With our five different custom-cutting lines Megahout & Plaat produces customised timber for various sectors. For the prefab industry, we run three H and M saws with differing specifications. This gives us the flexibility to provide timber up to 1,100cm in length, with a notch, or an inclined or an oblique edge. Depending on the client’s wishes, the trimmed parts can be given an identifying mark so that the timber can be processed straight away.
Extensive automation means we can import the desired on-line trimming files directly into our optimisation programme, so that timber consumption is kept to a minimum. The information received is converted into a sawing list and this is automatically read into the cutting line, thus ensuring that errors are kept to a minimum.
For packaging, we use an APS Weinig Opticut to trim the timber before automatically packaging it. With this cutting line, Megahout & Plaat is able to to supply any client with large customised volumes of approximately 100 m3 per day. This enables us to adapt to the client’s requirements concerning packaging, stacking and branding, so that every client gets ideal delivery of his or her product.
For special products such as ventilation slats, Megahout & Plaat uses an H and M cutting line with an inbuilt cutter unit, so that it can satisfy various requests for grooves and notches. Megahout & Plaat has a standard stock of these products but is able to produce any variant of the product to suit the client.
